I'm doing Pegasus 3, but not Gatecon. As you say, it's pretty expensive and I had to make a choice. January is a better time for me than October, so I decided to give Gatecon a miss.
Hopefully I'll run into you at one of these events eventually - I might try and make it to a Collectormania or something like that as well.
