So I watched '3 x 17 - Sunday' of Stargate Atlantis last night (the one that's just aired in Canada), and without spoiling the episode, all i have to say about it is: I haven't cried watching an episode of Stargate since Daniel died in Season 5. I'm quite an emotional person, and i do tend to empathise - when someone is upset, i get upset (even if it's just a soap), and i'll admit i cry very easily...i was close to tears watching '3 x 14 - Tao of Rodney' the other week. But 'Sunday'? Broke. my. heart. I don't think i'll be able to watch the last half of that ever again. Well, except the part with (Highlight for slight spoiler) John talking to Teyla in his dress blues *drools* (with the sound turned off - because i can't listen to the subject).  But no. Never again.

And in other news: this whole Celebrity Big Brother debacle. It's like a car accident - you don't want to look, but you can't turn away. Every year i tell myself 'i wont watch it', and i always do. This has to be the worst series of it ever though. I sit there watching it in shock over the behaviour of Jade and her cronies - i feel SO sorry for Shilpa in there. I'm just glad she has people she can talk to in there, even if they don't stick up for her. And just to be really shallow - doesn't Dirk Benedict look great for 61? I would have thought he was early 50's - not 60's.

E.T.A Spoilers in comments.

Exactly! The scene with Rodney on the bed and Elizabeth telling him that they 'all loved him' was very sad! It's amazing that even though we knew he would survive the emotion of anticipating the death was there too...none of them thought he'd make it. It's a token of how good the acting was in that scene.

But Carson...yeah...that was extremely sad, and you're right - the way fandom has responded is overwhelming. I think also the fact that they've just announced Torri to be reduced to a recurring character hasn't exactly helped things either. (And not to mention Carter joining the cast as well) It's like adding more fuel to the fire.

Shallow moment to brighten up this a bit- at least we finally got to see John Sheppard in his dress blues! He looked really, really good.

Hey...are you going to Pegasus 2 in a couple of weeks?

Agree on John totally. Him in dress blues and Rodney in a suit was just too delicious, it was just a shame it was for something so sad.

I've never been the greatest Carson fan, I have to admit. I felt the characterisation was patchy in the show and we were left with the old Classic Trek 'Dr McCoy on the bridge syndrome' too often wondering just what the hell he was doing in a particular scene. However sadly contrary to what fandom likes to think the writers and producers are tasked with producing a commercial product not fanfiction each week, so when a star like Tapping has a year left on her contract others have to be gotten rid of to accomodate. Sadly this time it was Paul and Torri. The reason is patently commercial no matter how they try to spin it. Personally 14 episodes of Carter is not what I want to see.

And yes! I am indeed going to Peg 2 in a couple of weeks. Are you by any chance?

Love O. xx

See, i always liked Carson...but i agree with you on the Dr. McCoy (hah - i wrote McKay automatically) syndrome - it's only recently that he was starting to come into his own. And even though i don't dislike Carter - she doesn't belong on Atlantis - i'm really worried that it's going to become 'battle of the egos' between her and Rodney...and of course i want Rodney to be victorious!

As for Peg 2...i haven't actually gotten any tickets booked yet! I was meant to be going with my 18 yr old brother, who then couldnt get the full time off work, then my dad wanted to come (then changed his mind), then my 13 yr old brother and 9 yr old sister wanted to see David H. but of course they have to be at school on friday. It's all up in the air, because none of them can do the full length of time, and they all want to be at part of it...and time's running out - and i'm starting to stress! Plus now that the cinema is showing 'A Dog's Breakfast' which i want to see, i'm getting extremely conscious that time is running out!

Gatecon in the summer was nowhere near as stressful as this is turning out to be (But then again, it was just me and the 13 year old). *Sighs*
