So I watched '3 x 17 - Sunday' of Stargate Atlantis last night (the one that's just aired in Canada), and without spoiling the episode, all i have to say about it is: I haven't cried watching an episode of Stargate since Daniel died in Season 5. I'm quite an emotional person, and i do tend to empathise - when someone is upset, i get upset (even if it's just a soap), and i'll admit i cry very easily...i was close to tears watching '3 x 14 - Tao of Rodney' the other week. But 'Sunday'? Broke. my. heart. I don't think i'll be able to watch the last half of that ever again. Well, except the part with (Highlight for slight spoiler) John talking to Teyla in his dress blues *drools* (with the sound turned off - because i can't listen to the subject).  But no. Never again.

And in other news: this whole Celebrity Big Brother debacle. It's like a car accident - you don't want to look, but you can't turn away. Every year i tell myself 'i wont watch it', and i always do. This has to be the worst series of it ever though. I sit there watching it in shock over the behaviour of Jade and her cronies - i feel SO sorry for Shilpa in there. I'm just glad she has people she can talk to in there, even if they don't stick up for her. And just to be really shallow - doesn't Dirk Benedict look great for 61? I would have thought he was early 50's - not 60's.

E.T.A Spoilers in comments.

Like you Tao choked me up but I knew Rodney was going to survive so it was 'final' whereas this was so obviously final. I too cried for Daniel and now cried again for Carson. I think the amount of vitriol spewing over the episode isn't helping either.

Good to see you pop up on the old FL once again.

Take care. O. xx

Okay, what the earth is happening in Atlantis? Don't worry about spoilering (is that even a word? *curious*) me as I don't actually watch the programme. Anyway, curiousity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back. *g*

We don't watch Big Brother but when we heard Dirk Benedict was there we did tune in to catch a look at him. The poor man is wondering what the human race has come to. Dirk - you are far too intelligent to be there. The debacle was on the news and paper so we caught it too. Despair for hummanity Rae...

Anyway ... did you hear? We get the Military Academy! Yahoo!

Right.

Now I just need to get your present ... and borrow it later. *cough* *wide, innocent eyes* What? Weekends also work best for me Rae I have to say. It depends on whether you want to come here or go into town. If we were going to meet at my house it could only be a Friday as my Mum works the first part of the week or the weekend.

I'm not free next weekend (brother is back for a long weekend - Fri-Sun).

Perhaps 1st week of Feb sometime?

What's happening in Atlantis? Hmm...lemme see. Well - they killed off Carson. And it was very, very, very, sad. They had a closing scene with McKay talking to a possibly imaginary Carson about how Carson's funeral went, which was just so heartbreaking. Just thinking about that one scene in particular brings tears to my eyes. So, so, so much emotion in that scene...and the funeral/memorial was sad enough. Bleugh.

Don't think i can do that weekend, as we are still possibly maybe doing the Pegasus Gate 2 convention. (Yes...it still isn't decided.) At the moment it seems like everyone except my mum is coming. But obviously, if i'm not, then it'll be fine.

And yes you can borrow the book *winks*.

Man it's windy today!

Exactly! The scene with Rodney on the bed and Elizabeth telling him that they 'all loved him' was very sad! It's amazing that even though we knew he would survive the emotion of anticipating the death was there too...none of them thought he'd make it. It's a token of how good the acting was in that scene.

But Carson...yeah...that was extremely sad, and you're right - the way fandom has responded is overwhelming. I think also the fact that they've just announced Torri to be reduced to a recurring character hasn't exactly helped things either. (And not to mention Carter joining the cast as well) It's like adding more fuel to the fire.

Shallow moment to brighten up this a bit- at least we finally got to see John Sheppard in his dress blues! He looked really, really good.

Hey...are you going to Pegasus 2 in a couple of weeks?

Agree on John totally. Him in dress blues and Rodney in a suit was just too delicious, it was just a shame it was for something so sad.

I've never been the greatest Carson fan, I have to admit. I felt the characterisation was patchy in the show and we were left with the old Classic Trek 'Dr McCoy on the bridge syndrome' too often wondering just what the hell he was doing in a particular scene. However sadly contrary to what fandom likes to think the writers and producers are tasked with producing a commercial product not fanfiction each week, so when a star like Tapping has a year left on her contract others have to be gotten rid of to accomodate. Sadly this time it was Paul and Torri. The reason is patently commercial no matter how they try to spin it. Personally 14 episodes of Carter is not what I want to see.

And yes! I am indeed going to Peg 2 in a couple of weeks. Are you by any chance?

Love O. xx

See, i always liked Carson...but i agree with you on the Dr. McCoy (hah - i wrote McKay automatically) syndrome - it's only recently that he was starting to come into his own. And even though i don't dislike Carter - she doesn't belong on Atlantis - i'm really worried that it's going to become 'battle of the egos' between her and Rodney...and of course i want Rodney to be victorious!

As for Peg 2...i haven't actually gotten any tickets booked yet! I was meant to be going with my 18 yr old brother, who then couldnt get the full time off work, then my dad wanted to come (then changed his mind), then my 13 yr old brother and 9 yr old sister wanted to see David H. but of course they have to be at school on friday. It's all up in the air, because none of them can do the full length of time, and they all want to be at part of it...and time's running out - and i'm starting to stress! Plus now that the cinema is showing 'A Dog's Breakfast' which i want to see, i'm getting extremely conscious that time is running out!

Gatecon in the summer was nowhere near as stressful as this is turning out to be (But then again, it was just me and the 13 year old). *Sighs*

CARSON? Killed? But I liked him!

Hmmm ... have fun if you go!

As for further into Feb I can't efinitley say until we settle on a possible weekend. It also depends on what we will be doing. If we want to come here then I can easily picky you up in the car as I'll have access to it on the weekend.

Thank you for letting me borrow the book. *wink*

Oh ~ I have manged to work more on Embracing Fire and on New Life! Now I can finally get to my surprises for you! Thank goodness my muses have returned

Yes, the picture would have to be uploaded to photobucket first. I'm guessing you know how to import the picture once it's on photobucket? If you don't, i can tell you how...

No i'm not going to P2 this weekend :o( We left it a bit last minute not to be stressful, which is a shame as i found out that David Nykl would be there as well (who plays Dr. Zelenka) and it would have been great to see him and David Hewlett together in the same room, because of their friendship (so the banter would have been fabulous). Plus it turns out i have a tutorial tomorrow morning, plus i'd forgotten it was library day, where i take Becky and Danny up Barry Dock, buy them lunch, then spend several hours in the library with them (their choice - they love the new library).

Muses are very naughty running away when you need them most! I'm very glad yours has returned! *Sits patiently*

No idea how to import ... I will get a photobucket account though.

I love the new library too, I just wish they had more books! Which reminds me: I have to return mine tomorrow (one of which is Temerarie - a relaly good book, I lovee and Temerarie *g*). Have time all of you - I wouldn't have the patience to do what you're doing - you're a saint!

Part Six is done, the next part is started and the first chapter of Embracing Fire is undergoing formatting. You won't have to wait much longer! Love!

Hey...you never know, maybe we'll see each other at the library then! Knowing my lot, we'll be there between 2ish and 4:30, depending on how long lunch takes. (that's how long we were there for last time!)

Once you have a photobucket account, its very easy to upload pictures from your hard-drive to it (i had to upload every single picture from my mood theme). Once the picture is uploaded, there are 2 links underneath it, and you want to copy the URL link given, and copy and paste the link below, placing the URL link where i say:

&img src="Place the URL link here" alt="title of the picture" /&

You need to leave the " in for it to work, and obviously to center it, you can use & center& and &/center& on either side of the formula.

Replace all the & with < (at the beginning) and > (at the end) to get them to work.

Does that make sense?

I think so ... I'm trying to upload it now so we'll see!

I have no idea when we'll be at the library tomorrow - it depends on my parents, but hopefully I'll aim for two-three pm.

Love!
