Torchwood and its many kisses

My dad has recently expressed a desire to watch 'Torchwood', so last night i provided him with the first three episodes.
It was only later that i realized that i had neglected to tell him that each of the main characters share a same sex kiss with different character at some point during the series. My bad. He's rather homophobic, so i wonder whether he'll get any further than the first episode.
My nine year old sister on the other hand had this conversation with me on the weekend regarding 'Torchwood':
Sister: Rae - can i watch the Jack and Ianto kiss? (You know that kiss)
Me: Why?
Sister: Because
Me: Because why?
Sister: Because!
Me: But Becky - it's two guys kissing
Sister: But it's romantic!
And then, when we were watching 'Greeks Bearing Gifts', (Episode 7 of 'Torchwood') and Toshiko was kissing Mary...the only comment my sister made was "They're kissing in public!" She gets all giggly about PDA as she's at that age. But the girl/girl kissing that took place? Didn't even strike her as odd. She's definitely a modern age kid. :o)
And why did no-one tell me that John Barrowman could really sing? I mean...i was told. But i wasn't told told.

Date: 2007-02-08 09:32 am (UTC)How was Peg 2 for you? I'm hearing some mixed reviews from several people...so i'm curious - as good as Gatecon in the summer?

Date: 2007-02-10 11:40 pm (UTC)I had a great weekend. Yes, there were some organisational glitches and a lot of queueing, but the guests were such fun and I met a lot of wonderful people.
Is there any chance of you making it to Gatecon in October, or Peg Three next year? I'm rapidly finding these cons addictive, though it is dependent on getting the time off work.

Date: 2007-03-29 03:52 pm (UTC)I've been given the go-ahead to take the younger siblings to Gatecon...however the price seems rather steep considering it's just tickets, and autographs and photo's aren't included in the price. I have two exams in October, so i'd hate to buy the tickets and discover that the exams are during that time. As for Peg 3...well that depends on if i go to Gatecon - i don't think i can afford both, but definitely want to go to one of them, because as you said - they're very addictive!

Date: 2007-03-29 06:12 pm (UTC)I'm doing Pegasus 3, but not Gatecon. As you say, it's pretty expensive and I had to make a choice. January is a better time for me than October, so I decided to give Gatecon a miss.
Hopefully I'll run into you at one of these events eventually - I might try and make it to a Collectormania or something like that as well.

Date: 2007-02-08 12:45 pm (UTC)You didn't know John Barrowman could sing? Really? I've heard him sing on stage - he is a very talented singer and actor. In other words, unlike most actors and singers on TV/film these days he has talent.

Date: 2007-02-08 04:45 pm (UTC)Oh, i knew John could sing...i've heard all about how he can sing. I just didn't realise how amazing his voice was. I just assumed that he was an average singer who could hold a tune fairly well (like, as you said most actors and singers). And then i heard he'd done a lot of the musicals that i've seen (obviously not when i saw them) which made me realise that since he'd played leads in them all - he obviously must be really good. And i was VERY impressed when i heard him.
I've been thinking about when we could meet up - half terms coming up in a week and a bit - i think i can do any day during that (except the monday as it's my bday) if that's any good to you?

Meetoing: When depends on what we want to do. If we want to come back to my house then it can only be Fri or Sat as my mother works the other days. (Mon-Wend nights so she'll not appreciate two women chatting/wathcing downstairs lol!).
Emracing Fire should be with you sometime today and Part Six of New Life too (I did send you part Five right? Paranoria setting in methinks! lol).

Date: 2007-02-09 03:37 pm (UTC)Ooohhhh, and you probably know this, and I meant to tell you when we met in the Library *rolls eyes* the seventh and final Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is out 21st of July Sat. What do you think? Almost the end of the journery for HP.
Oh, yeah, sorry for the misspellings in the previous post and poss here. Typos are horrible (my excuse for some of my mistakes lol!).
